New viewpoint in Olhos de Água unites art with nature

One of the pieces is located at the point where the approximate division between Sotavento and Barlavento Algarve is marked.

The sculptor Carlos de Oliveira Correia created two artistic pieces that make up a new space for observing the sea and the freshwater scouts at Olhos de Água Beach, in Albufeira.

The new viewpoint at Praia de Olhos de Água will be inaugurated next Wednesday, September 21, at 18 pm, in a ceremony that will be attended by the president of the Parish Council of Albufeira and Olhos de Água, Indaleta Cabrita.

The choice of time for this act took into account the occurrence of low tide, which will make it possible to view the freshwater lookouts.

This new artistic installation, designed and executed by the sculptor Carlos de Oliveira Correia, responsible for several works in the city of Albufeira and throughout the Algarve, is divided into two different decks.

In the first, a human figure will be visible, leaning over a place conducive to the contemplation of a scenario of rich natural beauty and with the gaze directed towards the freshwater scouts, so characteristic of Praia de Olhos de Água.

In the second, an informative map of the Algarve can be consulted, made of iron, with a legend that points out all the municipalities in the region and where the parishes of Albufeira and Olhos de Água stand out.

This piece, moreover, is located at the point where, according to various information collected, the approximate division between Sotavento and Barlavento Algarve is marked.

The opening of this new point of interest in the traditional fishing area of Olhos de Água will feature a musical moment by accordionist Nuno Águeda.
