Music for babies and children returns in October to the Silves Library

There are two sessions scheduled for October 8

The Municipal Library of Silves will once again host the Music for Babies activity in October, with two sessions scheduled for the 8th. 

The initiative, aimed at children between 0 and 5 years old, has free admission, subject to prior registration until October 4th.

The sessions, promoted by Pedro Branco, aim to «contribute to the development of babies and children's sensory abilities, and are guided by artistic and expressive experiences guided by music, through melodies and movements, favoring the development of their motor coordination. , cognitive and linguistic», says the Câmara de Silves in a note. 

Lasting approximately 60 minutes, each session is limited to the participation of 15 children (accompanied by an adult). At 15:30 pm it is for babies from 0 to 2 years old, and at 16:30 pm for children aged 2 to 5 years.

 

Pedro Branco was born on October 1, 1993, having started his musical life at the age of 6 at the Sociedade Filarmónica Artistas de Minerva de Loulé. He furthered his percussion studies at the Joly Braga Santos Conservatory, in Portimão, in the class of Professor Vasco Ramalho, and later went to the University of Évora, to complete his Degree in Music with Professor Eduardo Lopes.

He is currently finishing his master's degree in Music Teaching in Évora, teaching at the Sociedade Filarmónica Artistas de Minerva de Loulé, being the Professor in charge of the Banda Escolar de Loulé and Coordinator of the School, and he has a social project of Orquestra de Loulé. Bombos in Aldeia de Alte with the name of “Rufos”. Since 2015, he has carried out several activities related to Music for Babies in several Schools and Municipalities.
