Lots of music, humor and festivals mark cultural programming in Lagos until the end of the year

Portuguese musicians and comedians, a well-known Brazilian actor and an American saxophonist are part of Lagos' suggestions in the last quarter of the year.

Until the end of the year, the public can also count on the Festival “The Surf Experience”, the new edition of the Walk & Art Fest, the French Film Festival and the premiere of Pedra Dura – Algarve Dance Festival, not to mention the 30th anniversary of the Lagos Cultural Center.

In terms of music, concerts by the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve are planned for this concert hall, accompanied by soloists Rick Margitza, on saxophone, and Vânia Fernandes, on voice (24 October, 21 pm), by David Fonseca (30 October, 26 pm). ), UHF (21 December, 30 pm), The Gift (4 December).

Humor will also be a strong presence, with Paulo Betti bringing his “Authorized Autobiography” to Lagos (November 1, 18:00 pm), Joaquim Monchique and Maria Rueff pairing up in “Lar, Doce Lar (November 3 and 4, 21:30 pm). ) and with Gilmário Vemba talking about “Temas” (5 November, 21 pm), always at the Lagos Cultural Center.

When it comes to festivals, they take place in October and November.

On October 14th, the festival “The Surf Experience” (TobyOne) takes place, which will bring to Lagos names such as Gentleman's Dub Club, The Legendary Tigerman (fet. Cabrita – One Man Band), The Cuban Brothers and Naomi & The Raposeira Dub collective

From the 4th to the 6th of November, another edition of the Walk & Art Fest will take place, the walking and art festival of Barão de São João, «a collaboration between the municipality and the Almargem association with dozens of routes to choose from, as well as several activities dedicated to art and environmental awareness», according to the Lagos Chamber.

This is followed by the 1st edition of Pedra Dura – Algarve Dance Festival, a partnership between the municipality and the cultural association CAMA «which aims to become a reference in the promotion of contemporary dance in the region», which will take place between the 10th and 13th. from November.

In the same month, between the 15th and 19th, the 23rd French Film Festival will pass through Lagos, after a tour of the country.

“Souvenir du Théâtre d'Opéra” (Sounds at Twilight), “La Porteña Tango”, “Feedback” (Circolando Company), “Praise of Madness” (The Tent) and “Golden Years of Big Bands” (Light Orchestra de Lagos) are other shows that will be held at the Lagos Cultural Center until the end of the year.

In the last quarter of the year, the Lagos Municipal Library also stands out, which will host two new initiatives with sessions that will last until 2023: “Southern Dialogues: It Happens to the South, over the South, with landscapes to the South” (moderation by Fernanda Almeida – RDP Africa) and “Chega de Saudade. Portugal Today” (moderation by journalist Ana Daniela Soares).

In November, the initiative “Magic Words in Lagos – Meeting of Tales and Arts of the Word” takes place, where “various activities to celebrate the narration and magic of the stories that will unfold between the schools of the municipality and this cultural equipment will be presented, bringing to Lagos names such as Roberto White, Adriano Reis, Klemente Tsamba, Rodolfo Castro, Luís Correia Carmelo, Bruno Tarnecci, among others».
