Lagos offers scholarships to university students again

Scholarships have a maximum value of 55% of the Social Support Index (IAS)

The competition for the attribution of scholarships, given by the Câmara de Lagos to higher education students, runs from the 29th of September to the 31st of October.

Under the “Municipal Regulation for Attribution of Education Awards and Scholarships”, this contest aims to support students with less economic resources and who are attending study cycles related to qualification levels 5, 6 and 7 of the National Qualification, corresponding to the Higher Professional Technician, Bachelor's, Master's and Integrated Master's courses.

Candidates must meet a series of conditions that involve, among others, residence in the municipality for at least six months, age up to 40 years, school performance in the last year of enrollment, socioeconomic status and having also applied for the DGES – Directorate grant. -General of Higher Education in the respective educational establishment.

Scholarships have a maximum value of 55% of the Social Support Index (IAS), which is currently set at 443,20 euros, being granted, over 10 months, to all students who have a lower per capita income. or equal to the IAS value.

In addition, at least ten scholarships are awarded that reward the academic merit of students who have achieved per capita between 1 and 1,5 of the IAS value.

In the academic year 2021/2022, of the 133 applications received, 121 scholarships were awarded to higher education students from Lacobrigensia, which was the first year in which the new online platform was introduced with a view to dematerializing the application process, making it the most practical and affordable.
