«Young creative minds» from the Algarve already have annual courses at their disposal at Geeklab

Classes for each course take place once a week: from October this year to June 2023

Digital Design, Animation, Programming, Music and Audiovisuals. This is what young people, aged between 8 and 17, can learn at Geeklab, the Algarve's latest creative training space in Faro, in a total of six annual courses that already have open enrollment.

As a complement to regular teaching classes, GeekLab – Creative Academy challenges young people to «stimulate their creativity while learning new tools and skills in the digital and technological area».

With classes for each course taking place once a week, from October this year to June 2023, at Geeklab's facilities, at Mercado Municipal de Faro, the objective is for learning to be carried out in stages, but that, in the end, young people are able to develop concrete projects and that these are presented in various digital media.

The six courses presented are divided by age groups from 8 to 12 years old and from 13 to 17 years old. For the little ones there are courses on Introduction to Programming and Digital Design. For teenagers there are four options: Animation, Electronic Music, Programming and Audiovisuals.

With the purpose of «promoting and stimulating the thinking and imagination of the little ones, this creative laboratory wants to help young people from the Algarve to enhance the knowledge they already have on smartphones, tablets or computers and provide tools that allow them to develop their knowledge and contribute to an improvement in the regular teaching response, stimulating logical and creative thinking».

Registration is now open through the website geeklab.pt or by contacting Geeklab – Creative Academy, by email [email protected] or by calling 289 823 359 and 960 309 550.
