Gonçalo Neto launches album «Roots» at República 14 in Olhão

Gonçalo Neto, Algarve guitarist from Faro, will present, this Friday, the 16th, at 21:00, at República 14 in Olhão, his recent work »Roots», which he has just released.

In 2015, Gonçalo completed his degree in Jazz at the ESML, and, in the same year, he won the Young Musicians award with the group HOME by João Barradas. In 2016, he gave workshops and concerts in Macau and Hong Kong at the invitation of bassist Zé Eduardo.

He moved to Amsterdam in 2018, where he completed his master's degree in jazz guitar at the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam and it was there that he recorded, in partnership with singer-songwriter Marta Arpini, “Songs from the Garden”, and more recently the CD Roots which is now presented in this concert in Olhão.

With him will be João Mortágua, on alto sax, Hristo Goleminov, on tenor saxophone, Mauro Cottone, on double bass, and João Guerra, on drums.
