Last Sunday, the Fortress of Sagres hosted the “Baile da Rosa”, a staging of a popular open-air dance, around the “Rosa dos Ventos”.

Participants were welcomed at the entrance of the Fortress, by the sound of André Teixeira's accordion and by a couple of donkeys who carried their lunch and guided the group to the “Rosa dos Ventos”.

At 10:30 am, the presentation of the Piajon group began, with a traditional dance workshop, led by dancer Isabel Duarte, a specialist in world dance, who challenged visitors to some circle dance steps.

After lunch, the participants returned to “Rosa”, where the Colectivo ST All Stars provided a moment of body rhythm and percussion, continuing, meanwhile, with the Piajon for the dance that lasted until 17 pm.

The “Baile da Rosa” is a project by Conceição Gonçalves, Ana Simões and Albina Petrolati, promoted by Tertúlia Associação Sócio Cultural de Aljezur for DiVaM.
