The corpse of a man was detected this morning floating a nautical mile south of Carvoeiro beach in Lagoa. The causes of death are not yet known.
According to the National Maritime Authority, the alert was given at 10:05 am this Saturday, and the boat from the Ferragudo Lifeguard Station and elements of the local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão were sent to the scene.
"The crew of the Lifeguard Station recovered and transported the victim's body to the Portimão Naval Support Point, where elements of the Judiciary Police and the health delegate were waiting, who declared the death on the spot", described the AMN.
«The Public Ministry was contacted, and the body was later transported by elements of the Portimão Fire Department to the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Portimão», concluded the same entity.
The local command of the Maritime Police of Portimão took care of the incident.
