The City Council of Faro issued a note this afternoon regretting "deeply the death of Artur Jorge Vieira Ricardo, 2nd Commander of the Honor Roll of the Humanitarian Association of Firefighters of Faro Portuguese Cross».

Admitted to the Fire Department of Faro Cruz Lusa in 1986 as a cadet, Artur Ricardo progressed in his career as a firefighter to the rank of Deputy Chief, which he reached in 1999.

Taking into account his value and his skills, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Commander in 2002 and, in 2007, he was appointed to the position of 2nd Commander, a task he carried out until 2012, «having, throughout all these years, a journey guided by competence, zeal and dedication to the cause», underlines the autarchy's note.

He left the command when he was entrusted with the mission of heading the Operations and Communications Room of the Regional Emergency Command – Civil Protection of the Algarve.

At that time, he became a member of the Fire Department Honor Roll. Faro Cruz Lusa, a corporation with which it maintained, however, a close collaboration relationship.

During the 26 years in the service of the Fire Department Faro Cruz Lusa, “has accumulated a vast curriculum and professional experience, fundamental for his performance in the area of ​​Civil Protection and Relief in the region”.
