The Municipality of Castro Marim promotes, from the 12th to the 14th of October, a free screening for cancer and other skin diseases, aimed at the entire population of the county.
The municipality recalls that “this initiative was periodically developed before the pandemic, resuming now, after two years”.
With the voluntary collaboration of dermatologist Manuela Aguiar, the screening «has allowed the detection of tumor lesions at an early stage».
Possible pre-cancerous lesions (actinic keratoses) are also treated with liquid nitrogen purchased for this purpose.
The screening will take place in the parish seats of the municipality:
Odeleite (Parish Council) | October 12 | 09:30 am – 12:30 pm
Azinhal (Continuing Care Unit) | October 12 | 14:00 – 17:00
Height (Parish Council) | October 13 | 09:30 am – 12:30 pm and 14:00 pm – 16:30 pm
Castro Marim (Municipal Library) | October 14 | 09:30 – 12:30 and 14:00 – 16:30
