Freshmen from UAlg went to “Share Smiles” at the door of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Faro

New students roamed the streets of Faro playing and singing and culminated with Mercy

The “freshmen” students from the University of Algarve toured the city, on Monday, September 26th, stopping outside the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Faro, to share smiles with the institution's seniors.

It was, according to UAlg, a new way of «welcoming and integrating new students, providing them with unique and enriching experiences».

This activity, organized by the Volunteering Group of the University of the Algarve – UAlg V+, had the collaboration of Tuna Académica of the University of the Algarve – Versus Tuna, the Academic Association of the University of the Algarve (AAUAlg) and the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Faro.

The participants, most of them undergraduate students in Social Education, walked the city streets in a happy conviviality to concentrate in front of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia building, where users and employees were waiting for them at the window.

Following the tone of Versus Tuna, the sounds cheered those at the window, as well as passers-by, mainly tourists, who stopped to enjoy that moment of sharing smiles.
