Boat sank in Vila Real de Santo António fishing port

“The causes that led to the sinking” are unknown

A coastal auxiliary vessel sank on the afternoon of this Saturday, 10 September, while it was moored in the fishing port of Vila Real de Santo António, with no crew on board. 

The alert was given at 13:30 pm.

According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), “the causes that led to the sinking” are not known.

Upon arrival at the site, the elements of the Maritime Police «verified that there was no source of pollution, and the owner of the vessel will be notified to present a plan for removing or refloating the coastal auxiliary vessel».

The local Command of the Maritime Police of Vila Real de Santo António took care of the occurrence.
