Dutch artist exhibits at EMARP

The exhibition can be visited until the 21st of October

The painting exhibition “Johanna's Collection”, by the Dutch artist Joke van der Steen, will be on view from September 19, at EMARP – Municipal Water and Waste Company of Portimão.

«“Johanna’s Collection” is an impressionist and abstract work, which brings together thirteen works, where the pointillism technique is used to recreate the typical folk festivals that take place in many Portuguese towns and cities», says EMARP.

The exhibition can be visited until the 21st of October, between 8:30 am and 17:30 pm, in the service area.

Joke van der Steen was born in Holland in 1956. He made a professional career as a documentalist, but at the age of 45 he decided to embark on the world of the arts. In 2001 he became a student at an Academy of Arts in his homeland. At first, he opted for a more realistic style, but over time his art became more comprehensive, in search of a style of his own.

He has lived in the Algarve since 2013, integrating the collective of artists “Algarve Society of Artists” and has already exhibited in our country on several occasions, as well as in the Netherlands.
