Algarve has more active cases of Covid-19 than a week ago, but few

Numbers of cases in 7 days decreased, compared to the last week of August

The number of active cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve rose by 82, in a week, to a total of 1839, according to the weekly report on the epidemiological situation in the region, released yesterday, Friday, September 9, by the Commission. of Civil Protection of the Algarve Region.

According to the data available, referring to the period between 00:00 on the 2nd and 24:00 on the 8th of September, there were 594 new cases in a week, a number, even so, lower than the number recorded in the previous seven days.

In numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic, 228.542 cases of Covid-19 have already been registered in the Algarve.

Also in terms of active cases, the rise was much smaller than in the last week of August.

As for deaths caused by Covid-19, there were three on the days under analysis. So far and since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020, 914 people have died in the Algarve due to infection with SARS-Cov-2.

In Algarve hospitals, there were 36 patients hospitalized due to this disease, 5 more than a week ago. Even so, there is still only one patient in Intensive Care.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 225.789 people have recovered from the disease in the Algarve, 509 of which last week.
