The Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) carried out a series of operations in the district of Faro, in the week of 5-11 September, which resulted in the arrest of 57 people, several arrests and fines.
The operations aimed at preventing and combating violent crime, road inspection, among others, registering 26 detainees for driving under the influence of alcohol, nine for driving without a legal licenseove for drug trafficking.
In addition, 775 doses of cocaine, 428 doses of hashish, 204 doses of heroin, a firearm, 36 ammunition and 1.355 euros in cash were seized.
In traffic, 363 infractions were also recorded: 124 for speeding, 35 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 15 for misuse of mobile phone while driving, nine related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, eight for lack or incorrect use of a seat belt and/or child restraint system isete due to lack of civil liability insurance.
During this period, there are also 144 accidents that resulted in a num seriously injured and 30 slightly injured.
