138 kilos of lobster seized after escaping from the auction in Sagres

A 43-year-old man was identified

138 kilos of lobster (Palinurus elephas) were apprehended for escaping from the auction this Wednesday, August 31, in Sagres.

According to the GNR, military personnel at the scene “detected the discharge of crustaceans, namely lobster, directly into a light goods vehicle” that “had not been subject to the regime of first sale of fish (escape from the auction)”.

Following the action, a 43-year-old man was identified and the respective infraction notice was drawn up: the fine can reach 1500 euros.

The lobsters were transported to the Lota de Sagres, in order to be submitted to the system of first sale in auction, leaving the sale product to the order of the process.
