The programming of Cineteatro Louletano returns in September with António Zambujo, Rita Red Shoes, Shakespeare, a youth orchestra, a film about Álvaro Cunhal and a strong concern for inclusion.

The program for the 2nd season of 2022 of this cultural space in Loulé starts on the 4th, at 17:00, with a unique concert involving the Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa (JOP), the Conservatory of Music of Loulé – Francisco Rosado and several dozen music students. classical music from multiple music schools in the Algarve.

«The students will face an internship of several days with one of the most reputed conductors at national level, Pedro Carneiro, who is also artistic director of JOP and the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra», according to the Loulé Chamber.

On the 9th, a Friday, at 21:00, Rita Redshoes will take the stage to present her album “Lado Bom”, accompanied by the Filarmónica Artistas de Minerva, one of the oldest philharmonic bands in the country, following a challenge launched by Cineteatro Louletano.

 

On the 10th, the workshop “Radical Theater and Dance Techniques for Young Performers” starts, with Joana Pupo, based on the show “A happy and direct piece about sadness”, which was on stage at CTL, «starting from a meeting with the audience to talk about sadness, isolation and maladjustment.

The workshop takes place on the 11th, 17th and 18th, between 10 am and 00 pm.

On the 11th, Sunday, at 17 pm, ACTA – The Algarve Theater Company – performs in Loulé, with the play “À Deriva”.

This is a work “which is based on a true case during apartheid in South Africa, on Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela lived for 27 years”.

“Two companions in misfortune share the same cell; during the day they perform forced labor and at night they rehearse Sophocles' Antigone, which they want to present in prison. The play draws a parallel with other 'islands': migrants from the Mediterranean, modern-day slavery and human trafficking.

The cinema follows, to be shown in the Solar da Música Nova auditorium, always at 21:30 pm. On the 13th, “Un Beau Voyou”, by Lucas Bernard (2018), will be shown as part of the “French Film of the Month” cycle. In this police officer, «Commissioner Beffrois, about to retire, ends up being drawn into an exciting case, the theft of an important painting».

On the 16th, the public will be able to watch a film premiered in May, at Indie Lisboa: “O Jovem Cunhal”, by João Botelho.

«Two characters investigate the early years of Álvaro Cunhal's life and militancy. In the interstices of the investigation, brief re-enactments of passages from the books of this unavoidable figure in Portuguese politics», describes the Chamber.

 

 

On the 18th, at 17:00 pm, the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve will take the stage, accompanied by Rick Margitza, «American saxophonist who emerged from the last Miles Davis formations in the 80s and who brings in his luggage a series of original themes and orchestrations . Vânia Fernandes is the voice of many other themes from the jazz songbook».

Between the 22nd and 24th of September, the Political Festival arrives in Loulé, which has already been in Lisbon and Braga.

«These are three days filled with films, music, humour, conversations, workshops and installations. The programming focuses on human rights and disinformation as a threat to democracy. All activities are free of charge. The Festival includes interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language», summarizes the municipality.

On the 25th, Sunday, at 17:00 pm, the Cineteatro Louletano hosts “António Zambujo, voice and guitar”, a work inspired by the homonymous album by one of the masters of Bossanova, the Brazilian João Gilberto, who released “João, voz e guitar” in 1999. The show will also feature Portuguese Sign Language.

On the 26th, a residency encompassed in the Verão Azul Festival (biannual) begins, with the work “Pinturas Cantadas”, open to the community.

«“Pinturas Cantadas” is a sound performance that starts from conversations with individuals and intertwines music, life stories and image. Live sound mixes with field and studio recordings. The language of contemporary music machines is mixed with some ancestral sound practices».

The following day, September 27th, there will be a theater workshop, inspired by “Romeu and Romeu”, a work by LAMA Teatro that takes the stage on the 29th, at 21:00, but which has several sessions for schools on the 27th, 28th and 29th. XNUMX.

On the 29th, at 21 pm, the show is for the general public, «trying to answer the question: “What killed love?”. Starting from Shakespeare's idea of ​​love in his primordial work, 'Romeo and Juliet', Romeo and Romeo – which will have audio description, for people who are blind or with low vision – is a place of provocation, of provocations about inevitability ».
