VRSA celebrates Feast in honor of Our Lady of the Incarnation

Religious celebrations are scheduled for September 4

Vila Real de Santo António will celebrate the Feast in honor of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, between the 1st and 4th of September, with lots of music and entertainment.

In Praça Marquês de Pombal there will be the Palco Real, in memory of the first name of this square, Praça Real, and in the Jardim da Avenida da República there will be the Palco Guadiana, with performances by DJs on the 3rd and 4th.

The festivities begin on the night of the 1st, with street entertainment by the Philharmonic Band of the Vila Real de Santo António Cultural Association and the performance of the Santo António de Arenilha Ethnographic Group, on the Real Stage.

At 2, the “Sparrows on the loose” liven up the streets and at night there will be a dance show with the Companhia de Sevilhanas Gracia Diaz and a dance with Zé Aníbal, on the Guadiana Stage.

On the 3rd, the Santo António de Arenilha Fishermen's Association will promote the Donkey Game, next to its headquarters. At night, on Palco Real, will be the Fado Tropical and the villagers Cookie Monsters. Then, on Stage Guadiana, will be DJ Matt.

Finally, on the 4th, religious ceremonies are reserved, with Eucharist at 9 am, solemn mass at 00 pm and procession at 17 pm, with a pedestrian and river route.

The Santo António de Arenilha Fishermen's Association will promote the tallow stick at 10:00 am and the boat race at 12:00 pm.

At 22:00, on Palco Real, there will also be a tribute band to Xutos & Pontapés, with the participation of Domingos Caetano, from IRIS, at 00:00 there will be fireworks and soon after will be DJ Paulo Karussa, on the Guadiana Stage, with music from the 80's and 90's.

The Festival is organized by the Vila Real de Santo António Parish Council and the City Council, in partnership with the Parish of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, the Santo António de Arenilha Fishermen's Association and the Vila Real de Santo António Cultural Association.
