Volta a Portugal: Three “Algarvian” cyclists in the top 10 of the general classification

Three “Algarvian” cyclists are in the top 10 of the general classification of the 83rd Volta a Portugal, after the 5th stage that took place today, August 10th, between Mealhada and Miranda do Corvo. 

Alejandro Marque, from Atum General/Tavira/AP Maria Nova Hotel, is in sixth place, Delio Fernandez, from the same team, is in seventh and Jesus Del Pino, from Aviludo-Louletano-Loulé Concelho, in eighth.

The stage was won by Frederico Figueiredo, from Glassdrive-Q8, who completed the 167,5 kilometer course in 4h 02min 00sec. With this result, the Lisbon native also became the new yellow jersey, replacing Maurício Moreira (also from Glassdrive).

At this stage, the first “Algarvean” to arrive was Jesus Del Pino, from Aviludo-Louletano-Loulé Concelho, in 8th.

Alejandro Marque, from Atum General/Tavira, came in 12th and Delio Fernandez in 13th.

The next stage takes place this Thursday, the 11th, and goes from Águeda to Maia, a route of 159,9 kilometers.
