The Municipality of Silves will mark the National Day of Philharmonic Bands, this Thursday, September 1, at 21:30 pm, in the city's Castle.
The celebrations are part of the Municipality Day commemorations and include a concert in which the Sociedade Filarmónica Silvense Band will present, through their musical instruments, the soundtracks of different cinema films, with simultaneous projection of images.
The moment marks the National Day of Philharmonic Bands, established in 2013 by the Portuguese Government, in order to recognize and value the work developed over decades by Philharmonic Bands across the country.
The Banda da Sociedade Filarmónica Silvense has around 35 musicians and is conducted by Maestro Pedro Coutinho.
Admission to the 1st day concert is free.
