The headquarters of Casa do Povo de Alte celebrates this Thursday, August 4th, 50 years of its inauguration.

To mark the date, the Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum will promote an evening dedicated to the history of this association, at the Casa do Povo de Alte, at 21:00 pm.

«The organization invites the community, in particular the Alteans who were directly linked to this group, to participate in the gathering, in a sharing of memories where moments that marked the life of the institution will be remembered», says the Câmara de Loulé.

Located in Largo José C. Vieira, this headquarters is one of the parish's cultural and recreational spaces that annually hosts numerous events and initiatives.

The Folkloric Group of Casa do Povo de Alte is one of the most visible fruits of the collective work.

Founded on the 4th of October 1938, in the year in which the Competition for the most Portuguese Village in Portugal was launched, organized by the National Propaganda Secretariat, this group has been the defender of the identity culture of the parish of Alte, through the dissemination of costumes, of traditional songs, dances and chants.
