Riportico Engenharia, a company from Viseu, is responsible for inspection, quality management, safety coordination at work, environmental management coordination and archaeological monitoring of the water supply contract in the municipality of Loulé, a contract of 178.550 euros awarded by Portuguese waters.
«The work, included in a project with different phases, consists of the construction of an intermediate reservoir for consumption water, aiming to overcome obstacles in a mountainous area that currently do not allow drinking water to be taken to all destinations. The reservoir will be fed from the Estibeira Pumping Station, already built in a previous phase of the project, through a system with 4.400 meters of pipe with a diameter of 450 millimeters, fully buried. whose investment value by the owner of the work is close to five million euros, is scheduled to end in May of the next year (360 days after the start).
This intermediate reservoir will consist of two cells in reinforced concrete and will house a total of 3.400 cubic meters of drinking water.
According to the company, the reservoir to be built is a lifting station to raise the water to the top of the mountain where, in a next step, another reservoir will be built to distribute water to the entire municipality of Loulé.
«The pipeline will consist of cast iron pipes with a constant diameter of 450mm, buried along the municipal road EM1295, passing under the N270 and Via do Infante de Sagres (A22)», he concludes.
