The 5th Rally of the Municipality of Albufeira returns to the road on the 10th and 11th of September, after a two-year break due to the pandemic.
The initiative is organized by Automóvel Clube do Sul with the support of the Albufeira City Council, is part of the events calendar of the Portuguese Automobile and Karting Federation and counts for the Start Sul de Ralis Championship 2022, Regional Trophy of Southern Ralis, 5th Challenge Khumo Tires – South Asphalt and Extra Rally.
The competition starts on the 10th, at 21:00, on Avenida dos Descobrimentos, between the intersection of the Volunteer Firefighters of Albufeira and the Rotunda dos Relógios. This is one of the competitions in the south of the country with the highest number of spectators, having, in 2019, had 9 thousand people.
On the 11th, three classification events will be held, between the Algoz road and the Tunes road (Guia), in Canais (Ferreiras) which will be covered three times and in Alcaria (Paderne), which will be covered twice.
The races start at 10:00h and go on until 14:00h. In Guia, the Rally will pass at 10:00, 11:00 and 13:05, in Ferreiras, at 10:25, 11:30 and 13:35, and in Paderne at 11:45 and 13:45.
The race will have 61,43 timed kilometers and a total course of 158,03 kilometers.
The delivery of the prizes will take place on the podium installed in front of the Albufeira City Council building, at 15:30. The Rally Operational Center will be installed in the Albufeira City Hall building. The Assistance Park, this year, changes to the Car Park, located between the Municipal Pavilion and the Municipal Stadium of Albufeira.
In 2019, Márcio Marreiros/Rui Serra, in Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, were the big winners of the Albufeira Rally, with a total time of 44.30,40 minutes.
