A goal by Yago Carielo, almost on the 90th minute, gave Portimonense a 2-1 victory over Vitória de Guimarães this Sunday. The Algarve team started to lose, but managed to turn the score around.

The first half did not have many chances of danger and the best ones belonged to Vitória de Guimarães. In the 12th minute, Samuel Portugal had to apply himself to deny the goal to André Almeida and, in the 39th minute, Tiago Silva, in a free-kick, sent the ball to the post.

Portimonense reacted shortly after, in the 42nd minute, in a move in which Welinton Júnior entered the area loose, but ended up, already under pressure, for a very crooked shot.

The opening goal of the match came shortly after the return of the dressing rooms: Seck lost the ball to André Almeida and the Guimarães midfielder assisted Jota, who shot low and crossed to make it 0-1.

Portimonense reacted almost immediately with a shot from outside Welinton's area, which went very close to the post.

Welinton Júnior was the most dangerous man in Portimonense and the equalizing goal could only come from his feet. In the 63rd minute, after Moufi's cross, came the winning deflection of the white-and-white striker. Although Varela still touched the ball, there was even a tie.

In the 74th minute, the foreign team was close to taking the lead, when Amaro, following a corner, headed very close to Samuel's crossbar.

After a few moments of squeezing close to Portimonense's goal, the Algarve team responded, at 79′, and only failed to score because Varela instinctively defended Yago Cariello's header.

However, in the 88th minute, the Guimarães goalkeeper could do nothing. Seck made a great cross from the left side and Yago Cariello headed it 2-1.

The Alvinegro goal – and the celebration of the Portimonense forward – stirred the spirits of Vitória fans and the match was interrupted for a few minutes.

In the 90+8′ minute, Samuel Portugal shone. The goalkeeper, with a huge defense, denied Amaro the goal and even confirmed the second victory in three matches for Paulo Sérgio's team.
