The photographic exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo”, which has been touring the Algarve region, uninterruptedly, since August 2021, is open, until 31 August, at Cineteatro São Brás, in São Brás de Alportel, until 31 August, in what is its 16th “stop”.
Then, explains Associação In Loco, «it will continue its “journey” of more than 500 days, making stops in other cities, towns and villages in the region, providing everyone who visits it, to get to know the Fortress of Sagres through the images of that monument and its surroundings, captured by students of the Professional Course of Tourism Technician at Escola Profissional Cândido Guerreiro – Alte and by seniors residing in the parish of Alte, who visited it as part of the project that gave the exhibition its name».
When visiting the exhibition, adds In Loco, «you can also enjoy reading the Project Logbook, full of images of a voyage of discovery, artistic creation and the construction of affections and intergenerational complicity».
The project, conceived from an idea by Isa Catarina Mateus, was developed by a partnership constituted by Associação In Loco, the Parish Council of Alte, the Professional School of Alte, CIPRL and its Professional School Cândido Guerreiro – Alte, the Alte Animation Center- Center for Animation and Community Development of the Parish of Alte and the Casa do Povo de Alte/Youth Altense.
In 2021, the project had the support of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, through the DiVaM Program – Divulgation and Valorization of Monuments, having continued to roam since then with the support of the partnership, the hosts that have welcomed it until now and Loulé City Council – Municipal Museum – Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum Pole, the Algarve Tourism Region, the National Federation of Film Clubs and the International Federation of Film Clubs.
The exhibition tour also counts on the support of entities, organizations and companies that throughout this “journey” are hosting it in their facilities: the Fortress of Sagres, the Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum Pole; the Rosmaninho Restaurant – Sarnadas/Alte, the Algarve Regional Directorate of the Portuguese Institute for Sports and Youth, the Algarve Regional Directorate of Culture, the Salir Tourist Office, the Parish Councils of Quarteira, Boliqueime, Salir, Almancil, Ameixial , the Union of Parishes of Querença, Tôr and Benafim, the Manuel Viegas Guerreiro Foundation, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, the Cine Teatro de São Brás, Editora Sul, Sol e Sal, the University of Algarve – Campus Library from Penha – Faro and the Portimão Campus Library, the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR), MAR Shopping Algarve and the Vila do Bispo Interpretation Center, the municipality where the “journey” began and where it will end on the last day of the year 2022.
