Lagos invests in the renovation of cars in the Municipality with electric options

Of the 38 vehicles to be acquired, 15 will be electric

The Lagos Chamber approved this Thursday, 4 August, the opening of public tenders for the purchase of new vehicles, 15 of them electric. 

The option for electric vehicles, which represent 39% of acquisitions, and the reinforcement of the operational services response capacity are the main bets of the Municipal Vehicle Fleet Renewal Program, which represents an investment of 2,9 million euros.

According to the municipality, the Municipal Vehicle Fleet Renewal Program provides for the phased acquisition of 38 new vehicles, mostly intended for the operational activities of the municipality's services, such as urban cleaning, works by direct administration and school support. and associativism.

The great novelty of this investment is the option for electric mobility, since of the 38 vehicles to be acquired, 15 will be electric, representing 39,47% of the acquisitions.

«The program also aims to replace vehicles that, due to wear and tear or age, are no longer able to perform the functions for which they are intended, as is the case of transporting children, which can only be done by buses under 16 years old» , ends the Chamber.
