Folklore Festival, Toy and Diapasão liven up Albufeira fisherman parties

From the 2th to the 4th of September

The Fisherman's Square in Albufeira fills up again this year to celebrate the 23rd edition of the Fisherman's Festival, which will feature a Folklore Festival, Toy and Diapasão.

From the 2nd to the 4th of September, the city will pay tribute to fishermen, local people and traditional cuisine.

In these festivities, lovers of local cuisine will also have at their disposal several taverns with traditional products, from cuttlefish with ink, roasted chorizo, “alimados” horse mackerel, whelk feijoada and saddled sardines. For those who prefer the sweet delicacies of the land, there will also be many options.

As for the entertainment, opening the stage on the 2nd is the Albufeira band Duo 64, followed by the Diapasão group, a musical group made up of 6 elements: António Marante, Manuel Bessa, Francisco Marques, António Filipe, Armando Mendes and Jorge Marante .

On the 3rd, the festivities will be dedicated to the “Albufeira Folklore Festival”, which, in addition to the presence of the Municipality's Rancho Folclórico, will also include the presence of the Amigos do Rancho Folclórico da Freguesia do Biscainho de Coruche and the Rancho Folclórico da People's House in Vila Nova de Milfontes, in the Municipality of Odemira.

The singer Toy performs on the last day, the 4th of September, preceded by Carlos Coelho, singer and composer of traditional Portuguese music. This day is entirely dedicated to fishermen and the Albufeira community.

The Festa is back after two years of interregnum due to the pandemic.
