Children from Olhão participated in a lecture on “Maritime Citizenship”

After the lecture, the children had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Maritime Police Local Command and the Lifeguard Station

19 children from the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Olhão Activities and Leisure Center participated in the morning of this Wednesday, August 3rd, in a lecture on the “Maritime Citizenship” program, given by elements of the Maritime Police and the Lifeguard Station of Look.

​This lecture «aimed to raise awareness of the importance of playing an active role in safeguarding the marine environment and the coastline, highlighting topics related to safety on beaches and in Public Maritime Domain areas, with emphasis on the need and the importance of complying with certain rules and duties for the prevention of risky behavior», explains the National Maritime Authority.

After the lecture, the children had the opportunity to visit the premises of the Maritime Police Local Command and the Lifeguard Station and interact with the media and elements of the National Maritime Authority.
