“Calçadas” returns to São Brás with lots of art and animation

On Sunday, August 14th

O  “Calçadas, A arte sai à Rua” returns to Historic Center of São Brás de Alportel on Sunday, August 14th, with dance, visual arts, street animation, photography, literature, snacks, and much more.

The animation starts at 20:00 and, this year, the visual artist Jacqueline de Montaigne will be working live on the creation of a new mural.

On that day, the Palco da Vila Adentro will host the performances of “Bite The Blue Lemon” and “La Plante Mutante” while the Palco do Adro da Igreja is animated by the Municipal School of Dance and the Urban Xpression Dance Group. Fado will be in charge of Ricardo Martins, Nuno Martins, Arnaldo Santos, Amabélio Pereira and Beatriz and also animated by the “Braza Doirada”.

The “À do Calçadas” stage also features What Billie Whispered (a tribute to Billie Holiday) and DJ Narra.

On this night, the Municipal Library also opens its doors with short story sessions presented by Patrícia Amaral (Tixa), a storyteller. On the Calçadinha stage will be Fernando Guerreiro with his “Histórias D'Arrepiar!

The event has free entry. This is an initiative integrated in the Historic Center Revitalization Plan, promoted by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, with the collaboration of the “Calçadas Organizing Committee”, an informal group of the São Brasense community.
