The BeActive Beach Games return to Praia da Rocha, in Portimão, on the 3rd and 4th of September and bring with them an international family event, a 5-kilometre run/walk and the possibility to try out various modalities.
One of the highlights of this event organized by the Council of Sports Federations of Latvia, in partnership with the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth and the Portimão City Council, under the Eramus + program, is the Family Cup.
This competition, scheduled for September 3, between 9 am and 00 pm, «will bring together Portuguese and foreign families in 18 games prepared to test physical and intellectual capacity and teamwork».
“Each family must consist of two adults and a minimum of two children (born between 2004 and 2015), who will compete for the highest place on the podium. Families may have more than four elements and different degrees of kinship, but they must respect the maximum number of participants in each game”, according to the Portimão Chamber.
In the end, the three highest ranked families will receive a trophy. All families who complete the 12 challenges of the Family Cup will receive a voucher of 75 euros for sports equipment.
Registration is free and must be made online.
«Each participating family will receive the participation kit, consisting of four cloth bags, four t-shirts, four caps, four bottles, a sunscreen and four lunch vouchers, with a lunch box available in the BeActive Family Cup support tent . In addition, they also receive the information kit, consisting of the game map, passport and regulations», adds the municipality.
In addition to this event, the BeActive Beach Games also have a 5-kilometre run/walk in their programme, starting and finishing at the Portimão Marina, scheduled for 9:30 am on the 4th of September, a Sunday.
The initiative is open to people of all ages and registration is free and can be done on the event website.
Those who register for the event receive the official t-shirt of the event, with the delivery of athlete kits taking place on Saturday, the 3rd, in Praia da Rocha, between 10:00 am and 18:00 pm.
Those who go to Praia da Rocha on these days can also try out various sports, including beach volleyball, surfing, bodyboarding, beach tennis, handball and beach football.
They are also part of the SCHEDULE Pilates, fitness, water aerobics, capoeira and zumba classes.
