Calema, Piruka, a tribute to Linkin Park and a Night A full of shows are some of the suggestions for the celebrations of the Municipality of Aljezur Day, which take place from Thursday, the 25th, until the 29th of August.
After two years without taking place, the party returns with more days of celebration, with a Street Food area that will open on Thursday at 17:00, next to the Municipal Market. The Palco da Ribeira will also be installed at this location, where local artist Zélia Viana will perform on the 25th, at 21:00 pm.
The 26th of Friday is dedicated to rock and music from the 80s and 90s. From 22 pm onwards, Hybrid Theory, a cover band by Linkin Park, and DJ Vasco Dantas, come to Palco da Ribeira.
On Saturday, the 27th, Piruka and the DJs Los Bandidos perform at the same place and at the same time.
On Sunday, the eve of the municipal holiday, the party is made up of 13 shows, in different locations in the Historic District of Aljezur, starting at 16:00 pm and continuing into the night.
This "multicultural night with the dress code Branco will feature shows «from fado to classical music, with different performances, rock, DJ Set, taverns, snacks, handicrafts, and the possibility of visiting the museum centers of the historical-cultural and environmental circuit», according to the Aljezur Chamber.
Calema, João Só and DJ de Vacaciones are some of the names that are part of the lineup.
The musical performances begin at Largo da Liberdade, next to Ribeira de Aljezur, passing through Largo 5 de Outubro, Igreja da Misericórdia and Aljezur castle and ending at Largo do Mercado. Entrance will be free.
On the 29th, the Municipality Day festivities begin with a walking march, scheduled for 9:30 am, starting in Vale da Telha and arriving at Praia de Monte Clérigo, «where the traditional bath of the 29th will be recreated, with musical performance by the Bandstand Group».
At 11:30 am, the “Mega Sardinhada em sua Casa” begins, «with points of delivery for sardines to the population in all parishes».
At 22:00 pm, the musical shows begin, led by the group Némanus and Rui Soares e Lau.
