Alcoutim City Council decided to allocate a financial contribution of 43.564,47 euros to the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters, to help in the acquisition of equipment.
The objective is to «improve the conditions for the development of the mission» of the firefighters, through the acquisition of a vehicle for transporting non-emergent patients that aims to meet «the need to renew the existing fleet, and an external thoracic compressor, a essential equipment for immediate basic life support», the municipality says in a note.
For Osvaldo Gonçalves, Mayor, «cooperation with the Volunteer Firefighters, in this context, constitutes an important reinforcement for their response capacity and readiness, in the face of the enormous challenges they face daily».
