A 50-year-old man was arrested for a forest fire this Monday, August 15, in Ferreiras, in the municipality of Albufeira.
The arrest was made by the GNR military after a complaint. “During the course of the action, it was possible to determine that the suspect carried out a burning of leftovers that went out of control”, stresses the Guard in a note.
The detainee was made an arguido, and the facts were referred to the Albufeira Judicial Court.
So far, the GNR has made 68 arrests for forest fire, 16 more than in the whole of 2021 (52 arrests).
In a note, the waiter recalls that "theBurning and burning are one of the main causes of fires in Portugal” and “andAt any time of the year, it is forbidden to burn cut and piled woods and any type of leftovers from forestry or agriculture, as well as burning without asking for authorization or making prior communication».
