The Vila Real de Santo António City Council is carrying out, in August, deratization and deratization actions in all the parishes of the municipality. The objective is to “prevent pest control” and maintain “levels of public hygiene”.
The campaign reinforces the disinfestation work carried out throughout the year.
In August, there will be actions on the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th (Vila Real de Santo António), 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th (Monte Gordo) and 26, 29, 30 and 31 (Vila Nova de Cacela).
Periodically, the municipality of VRSA also carries out disinsections on the water lines, with the aim of preventing the Nile virus, in places previously defined by the health authorities.
In parallel, treatments are carried out to prevent and control the pine processionary or caterpillar.
