On the 8th and 9th of July, Teatro do Eléctrico will be at Cineteatro Louletano with the show Transatlântico, by Christopher Durang, created by Ricardo Neves-Neves and Companhia Maior.

The dramaturgical version and the staging is by Ricardo Neves-Neves and the interpretation by the cast of Companhia Maior.

Transatlântico «is the meeting between Ricardo Neves-Neves and Companhia Maior, a collective of actors and actresses over 60 years old that, every year, is directed in a show by different artists, or artistic collectives», explains Teatro do Elétrico. .

«In a comedy tone, the director continues his musical dramaturgy work, taking the sung word to the stage and discovering new paths with this very special group of performers», he adds.

At the same time, the workshop “Cantar a Maior Idade” will be developed, with Rita Carolina Silva, and a creative writing workshop with Ricardo Neves-Neves.

The workshop “Cantar a Maior Idade” takes place on the 9th of July, between 10:00 and 13:00, at the Ginásio dos Espanhóis, and is aimed at people over 50 years old.

In this workshop, “the meeting of the spoken voice and the sung voice will be worked on – from a technical and artistic perspective. In this way, we will put memory and voice at the service of creation based on the performer and the musical material of the Algarve songbook: the self, the community and the heritage».

For the same day, between 17:00 and 20:00, the creative writing workshop is scheduled, with Ricardo Neves-Neves, at Palácio Gama Lobo.

«How to unlock writing and creativity? How to deal with the tragic blank slate? These are doubts that arise when creating a scene. The director and playwright Ricardo Neves-Neves brings us some useful exercises», says Teatro do Elétrico.
