To journalists, the mayor also highlighted that, at the moment, the main concern is Quinta do Lago – as already mentioned by Richard Marques, district operational commander – and that many means are allocated there so that the fire does not reach the dwellings.
As for the Biker Concentration of Faro, Rogério Bacalhau said that the realization is not in question.
«This is a concern of ours, but the burned area is located several kilometers from the Concentration. Even now I came from there and everything is going normally. People are already camping in the new area and everything is being taken care of so that, as of tomorrow, the concentration begins – and it would be bad if, by then, this fire was not already solved. But that [concentration] is not our concern now, our concern is the safeguarding of lives and goods», he stressed.
