President of the Republic of Cape Verde visits University of Algarve

The visit will also include a meeting with UAlg students of Cape Verdean nationality

José Maria Neves, President of the Republic of Cape Verde, will visit this Saturday, July 30, at 10:30 am, the Gambelas Campus of the University of Algarve. 

The Cape Verdean delegation will be chaired by the head of state José Maria Neves, accompanied by the first lady Débora Carvalho, the minister of Communities Jorge Santos and the ambassador of the Republic of Cape Verde in Portugal Eurico Monteiro, among other individuals.

The UAlg delegation will be headed by the rector, members of the rector team, directors of Faculties and Schools, as well as the institution's professors and researchers.

After a private meeting between the rector and the President of Cape Verde, the delegations will attend the presentation of UAlg projects in the field of the Sea, in particular, carried out by the Marine and Environmental Research Center (CIMA) and the Science Center do Mar (CCMAR).

The visit will also include a meeting with Cape Verdean students from UAlg, a family photograph next to the Seahorse Sculpture by artist Bordalo II, culminating in the Experimental Laboratory for Aquatic Organisms (LEOA), at 11:45 am.
