Paving works in the Olhão tunnel are almost finished

The paving works of the Olhão tunnel are almost finished, announced this Thursday, July 28, the City Council. 

“The intervention, which also included the adjacent roads, took about a week,” according to the municipality.

Both the duration of the work and its timing were chosen in such a way as to cause minimal impact on traffic on one of the city's main arteries: at the weekend, work was interrupted so as not to constitute an obstacle to the movement of and for Municipal Markets.

«The month of July was chosen because it is a time when the surrounding services (Court, Finance, Social Security and Secondary School) are closed or have a reduced movement, also reducing, in this way, the embarrassment to car circulation», he says. the City Council.

Councilor Ricardo Calé, who accompanied the work, revealed that this was «one of the most requested works by the citizens, which we have now managed to complete, and that it is part of a deeper intervention in that artery, which will continue, shortly, with the painting of the tunnel and the repair of the iron railing'.
