The 2nd edition of the “Youth for the Environment” program has already started, in Castro Marim, because “taking care of the Planet starts at home”.
In this edition, 17 young people are participating.
This year, the “Youth for the Environment” program will also include the organization of promotion and awareness-raising actions on beaches and events, starting with the International Caracol Festival, and collaborating with the municipality's veterinary nurse in services for the Center for Official Intermunicipal Collection of Vila Real de Santo António and Castro Marim.
Awareness-raising actions on recycling, surveys and actions related to bio waste and collaboration in the geolocation of containers in the municipality are other works that will also be developed.
The project «goes far beyond cleaning public spaces and aims to be a non-formal educational opportunity, combined with practical experience in a work context, facilitating the personal and civic development of these young people», concludes the Castro Marim Chamber.
