IEFP launches National Professionals Championship in Portimão

The 45th National Professions Championship, SkillsPortugal – Portimão takes place from 7 to 12 March

The Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional (IEFP)/WorldSkills Portugal will promote next Monday, July 25th, from 10:00 am, a session that will serve to deliver the diplomas to the winners of the 2nd edition of the National Championship of Digital Professions, which took place last May, and launch the 45th edition of the National Professions Championship. 

In 2023, Portimão will host the event. The 45th National Professions Championship, SkillsPortugal – Portimão takes place from 7 to 12 March under the theme: “The Professions and Sustainable Development Goals”, with around 400 highly qualified young people who will compete with each other in 56 professions. .

«SkillsPortugal – Portimão 2023 has as main objective to raise awareness of young people, families, companies and other employers, and citizens in general, to the importance of excellent professional qualification as a highly promoter of employability and as a driving force for productivity and economic growth», says the IEFP.

Young medal winners at this national stage will be able to represent Portugal in the 8th edition of the European Championship for Professions, which will take place in September 2023, in Gdansk, Poland and in the 46th edition of the World Championship for Professions, which will take place in Lyon, France in September 2024.

The welcome and opening session will be attended by Madalena Feu, Regional Delegate for the Algarve, Maria Adelaide Franco, President of the IEFP Board of Directors, and Isilda Gomes, Mayor of Portimão.
