71-year-old man in cardiac arrest assisted at Praia dos Pescadores

Use of the Automated External Defibrillator was fundamental

A 71-year-old man, who felt unwell, having gone into cardiac arrest, at Praia dos Pescadores, Albufeira, was assisted on the sand by lifeguards, in collaboration with the firefighters, who started resuscitation maneuvers, with the support of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

After the arrival of the INEM elements, they continued the maneuvers, with the support of the elements of the “SeaWatch” Project.

The victim was then transported, in a conscious state, by the Volunteer Firefighters of Albufeira to the hospital.

According to the National Maritime Authority, the alert was received at 11:00 am today, July 25, by the Volunteer Firefighters of Albufeira, informing that a man was in cardiac arrest on the sandy beach of Pescadores.

The local command of the Maritime Police of Portimão took care of the incident.
