There are four Algarve people called up for the World Athletics Championships

In total, Portugal will take 23 athletes to these World Athletics Championships

There are four Algarve athletes on the Portuguese Athletics Federation (FPA) squad list for the World Cups to be held from 15 to 24 July, in Eugene (United States of America). 

Ana Cabecinha, athlete of Clube Oriental de Pechão, will compete in the 20 kilometer march. For Cabecinha, this will be the sixth presence in World Cups

In this competition, the athlete will have the company of another Algarvian: Carolina Costa, Sporting athlete, but who has also represented the Oriental Club of Pechão, will make her world debut.

As for Isaac Nader, from Faro who represents Benfica, he will compete in the 1500 meters.

Finally, the veteran João Vieira, 46 years old, born in Portimão and a Sporting athlete, will be present in the 35 kilometer march.

In total, Portugal will take 23 athletes to these World Athletics Championships.
