International Children's and Youth Song Festival is back in Portimão

On the 23rd of July

The International Children's and Youth Song Festival “Chaminé D'Ouro”, which will take place along the Arade River, between the Portimão Museum and the Crane, returns on the 23rd of July.

The 36th edition of this festival, organized by the Parish Council of Portimão in partnership with Rádio Alvor, welcomes children from all over the country, aged between 5 and 15, who present ten new songs on stage, divided into two levels – children's and youth and five versions, which will be evaluated by a jury, which this year will count with the presence of the singer Edmundo Inácio.

With this event, the aim is to encourage the «appearance of new talents» and serve as a «launch ramp for those taking their first steps in the music world», says the Portimão Parish Council in a note. This edition will include the Festival's children's choir, composed of around 30 children, led by Maestro António Alves, who will accompany the participants.

The presentation of the Festival is in charge of Hugo Mendes, from Portimonense, who was one of the members of the choir and today is a professional in national communication.
