The Parish Council of Ferragudo, in collaboration with the parish and associations, will reactivate the celebrations of the day of its patron saint, Nossa Senhora da Conceição, which is celebrated on August 15, and will promote four days of celebration, which culminate in the traditional procession, which will have its maritime route on the River Arade.
According to the municipality, «aware that the festival reflects the culture and pulse of the people of Ferragudo, all efforts were haggled to carry it out, with the greatest investment ever in its animation, on the part of the Parish Council, the in order to maintain a tradition that has lasted for decades».
This year, in addition to the religious program, the four days of celebration will be in downtown Ferragudo, where traffic will be conditioned for this purpose, with a diverse program, which will have from the accordion, a tribute to ABBA, lots of music and the presentation of the “Revista do Boa Esperança” live, «without tickets and without “filters”».
On August 15th, there will be a mass at 17:00 pm, followed by the usual Procession, accompanied by the Portimonense Philharmonic Band, on a route that, along with the Ferragudo ISN, will enter its maritime route, which will continue to the Marinha docks and return to Praia Grande, returning to the procession to start the land route in the Salva-Vidas, where the blessing of the boats and fishermen will be made.
After the blessing, the procession this time, will continue through the streets of Ferragudo towards Largo Rainha Dª Leonor, following its route to the Church.
On the night of August 15, in addition to various snacks from local associations, the Tribute to ABBA will start the shows, there will also be music for dancing, by Companhia Limitada, ending the night with fireworks.
The celebrations have the support of the Municipality of Lagoa, the National Republican Guard of Lagoa, the Volunteer Firefighters of Lagoa, the Captaincy of the Port of Portimão, the Instituto de Socorros a Náufragos, local associations, entrepreneurs, traders, fishermen and the population of Ferragudo.
