The Medieval Fair is back in the city of Silves, from the 10th to the 20th of August, and promises a journey through time that invites you to experience “A day in history”.
«The daily life of the Islamic Xilb on one of the Fridays of the year 1147 sets the tone for this edition of the event, which fills Madinat Xilb with already well-known moments and sounds, such as the welcome given by the Vizier, the call to prayer for Al -Muezzin, the buzz of the vendors and the sound of music and contagious joy these days», emphasizes the Municipality of Silves in a press release.
The XVII Medieval Fair will feature two daily tournaments, a show at the Castle, a dozen fixed entertainment points, itinerant entertainment, six medieval taverns, two wardrobes, an educational and playful space aimed at the youngest (Xilb dos Pequenos), more than two dozen animation groups; a Berber camp with merchants of exotic goods, blacksmiths, carpenters and potters working on their crafts and the usual medieval experiences.
At the fair there are exhibitors of artisans, artisans, confectionery, mystics, merchants and Mouraria.
