Faro received a lecture from the Maritime Police on “Maritime Citizenship”

The lecture was attended by 12 participants.

The elements of the local Command of the Maritime Police of Faro held this Thursday, July 28, a lecture within the scope of the “Maritime Citizenship” program, part of the partnership with the Centro de Ciência Viva – Verão em Rede, in Faro.

The lecture was attended by 12 participants and aimed to «raise awareness of the importance of playing an active role in safeguarding the marine environment and the coastline», says the Maritime Police.

The initiative highlighted topics related to safety on beaches and in areas of the Public Maritime Domain, with emphasis on the need and importance of complying with certain rules and duties for the prevention of risky behavior.

After the lecture, the participants had the opportunity to perform a baptism of sea in the Ria Formosa, aboard a Maritime Police vessel.
