The regulation on “Support for AMAL Mobility” is approved

This regulation establishes the general rules for the application of the Fare Reduction Support Program (PART) in Public Transport in the Algarve

The Intermunicipal Council of AMAL – Intermunicipal Community of the Algarve approved the final version of the regulation “Apoios à Mobilidade AMAL” which will now be published in the Diário da República.

This regulation establishes the general rules for the application of the Fare Reduction Support Program (PART) in Public Transport in the Algarve.

«The document defines and regulates the support to be granted to passengers of public services of intercity, municipal and urban road transport, and also passenger rail, as well as the rules regarding the respective payment. The “AMAL Mobility Support” results in a subsidization of the public sale price of the transport tickets covered by the Regulation», explains AMAL.

AMAL, as the Intermunicipal Transport Authority, is responsible for planning, defining and approving transport titles and tariffs and the specific rules relating to the tariff system.

In this quality, the Intermunicipal Community has been applying the PART since 2019, which is a program that translates into supporting families in their elementary expenses, such as mobility for access to employment, education, health, leisure. and other essential services, promoting the universality and accessibility of public passenger transport services.

PART also encourages the change in mobility patterns in the Algarve, «with the migration of the use of individual transport to public transport, thus contributing to a more sustainable mobility and responding to the growing consequences of climate change».
