Sculptures by three Algarve artists bring the Quarteira boardwalk to life this summer

Opening takes place this Tuesday, July 19, at 19:00

The Algarve artists Gustavo de Jesus, Henrique Silva and Élsio Menau inaugurate this Tuesday, July 19, at 19:00 pm, the three sculptures that will bring the Quarteira Boardwalk to life this summer.

“Observatory of Horizons and Faraways” is the name of the work of Gustavo de Jesus, born in Tavira. The Algarve has a degree in Visual Arts, a post-graduate degree in Visual and Performing Arts and a master's degree in Cultural Communication and Arts from the University of Algarve and has developed, in recent years, a path as a visual artist, in areas such as photography, video, sculpture, installation and performance, both in collective and individual projects.

Henrique Silva, from Querença, is the author of the sculpture “Horizon Salgado”. As an inhabitant of the Algarve barrocal, stone has always fascinated him and it is with it that he worked, having already exhibited in Portugal, Finland, Spain and England.

The other work, “Horizon of Concrete”, has the signature of Élsio Menau, from Quarteira. The artist completed his studies in Visual Arts at the University of Algarve in 2012, the same year he founded the Cultural Association Polychromia.

His artistic identity appears linked to Graffiti and contemporary art and, currently, his work is outlined through the techniques of painting, mural painting, sculpture, illustration and installation, and, more recently, he has been dedicated to the world of the arts of the collection toys.

The sculptures will be inaugurated on the Calçadão de Quarteira, next to Geladaria Roma.
