Two men, aged 39 and 37, were arrested in Beja and Olhão for committing the crime of pornography of minors, announced the Southern Directorate of the Judiciary Police.
Within the scope of investigations, which originated in investigations carried out by the Judiciary Police and «communication from an international organisation», house searches were carried out in the Beja and Olhão area, which culminated in the arrest of two suspects.
«After carrying out computer searches of the various equipment, thousands of videos/images containing pornography of minors were identified, in which young children participate in explicit sexual acts with adults, suspecting that part of this material may have been shared with third parties. not yet identified», adds the PJ.
Several devices were seized, namely computers, external disks and mobile phone.
The Judiciary adds that the “investigation continues with a view to fully clarifying the facts and identifying other possible suspects”.
The detainees will be present today to the judicial authorities for the first judicial interrogation and application of the coercive measures.
