The inauguration of the «first boat in the fishing sector powered by solar energy» and the photovoltaic park that has already been installed on the island will be two of the highlights of the anniversary party of the Association of Residents of Culatra Island, on Tuesday, the 19th, from 19:30 pm.
The Culatra community celebrates again, after two years of interregnum, due to the pandemic, this time with a strong focus on the energy transition that is underway on the island, under the project “Culatra 2030 – Sustainable Energy Community”.
It was within the scope of this initiative that the solar park was installed and the 100% electric boat that will now be presented was acquired, which aims to contribute “to the decarbonization of Ria Formosa”. Both actions were financed under the Mar2020 Operational Programme.
In addition to the openings, the party includes a dinner with the population, a fado concert with Tatiana Pinto, accompanied by Valentim Filipe and António Correia (Portuguese Guitar and Viola) and musical entertainment.
